Disciples' Feet
Jesus knew that some people did not like Him
He knew the leaders wanted to kill Him because they were jealous
Jesus knew who His real friends were
They were Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew
Simon, Matthew, James, Thomas, Thaddeus, and Judas
They had traveled far with Jesus and had
Been His friends for a very long time
Jesus had taught His friends many lessons
One night, when they were getting ready
For dinner, Jesus got up from the table
He covered his clothing with a towel
He then put water into a big bowl and began to wash his friends' feet
When Jesus went to wash Peter's feet, Peter said, "I don't
Want you to wash my feet." Jesus said, "If you do not allow
Me to wash your feet, you cannot follow me anymore." After
Jesus washed all his friends' feet, He explained why he did it
Jesus said, "If I, your Lord and teacher, can wash your feet, be
Kind to you, and care for you, then you can be kind to each other."
